My family went to the beach last Sunday (Sept. 20) but I didn’t want to go early because i wanted to watch the most awaited bout between Floyd “Money” Mayweather of America and Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez of Mexico. But mother insisted i’d go with the group and so i did. I was anxious who would win! Though i like Mayweather, i was rooting for Marquez all because i think he is a nice person. Lucky for me, Studio23 showed the replay of the match at around 8:00pm and ABS3 at 11:00pm. I was able to watch twice. I was sad that Marquez lost to Mayweather. At least he made it until the 12th round and wasn’t knocked out! When i think of it, it’s better that Marquez did not win because i don’t want to see him fighting against Pacquiao again. Not because i so much like Pacquiao but because i don’t want to see two minority countries fighting. Heheh.

Mayweather has now a record of 40W, 0L, 0D, 25KO. Amazing!!! Marquez on the other hand, 50W, 5L, 1D, 37KO. Equally amazing, only that Mayweather has zero loss.

I’m really not a boxing fan though i get to watch some bouts because my father watch it on tv. I don’t understand the word welterweight (the match between Mayweather and Marquez), turned out, it means, a professional boxer who weighs between 141 and 147 pounds. Now i know why Mayweather had to pay Marquez some fine because of his weight.

Now, what’s with the photo above? Hehe it’s just a photo that reminded me of Tyrese. There’s the girl (don’t know her name but was part of the entourage during the cast tour, if you ever remember the movie 2 Fast 2 Furious), me and Tyrese Gibson who sang the national anthem for the USA during the opening of the Mayweather-Marquez bout. Seriously, i touched Tyrese’s muscles, and man, indeed muscles! Heheh! Whew! And and and the girl told me “You’re so cute!” wahaha! feel pud nako! 2004 pa ni na pic oi!

Here’s the weather forecast distributed to us at work last Friday:

“At 4:00 a.m. today, Tropical Depression “ONDOY” was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 440 kms East Southeast of Casiguran, Aurora or 240 km East Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes (15.0°N 126.7°E) with maximum winds of 55 kph near the center. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 11 kph.

The eastern sections of Luzon will experience rains and gusty winds with moderate to rough seas. The rest of Luzon and the whole of Visayas will have monsoon rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides while Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Light to moderate winds blowing from the southwest to southeast will prevail over the eastern sections of Northern and Central Luzon and coming from the northeast to northwest over the rest of Luzon with slight to moderate seas except during thunderstorms.”

Here in Cebu, I could feel the winds. It’s not normal but not strong. I was in fact just sleeping until about 4:00pm when my colleague texted me and told me to watch the news on TV. I was horrified by what I saw. I never expected the impact of the typhoon. It’s only at signal 1, 2 on some areas. But the non-stop rain made worst of the flood in most areas of Luzon including Metro Manila. There are casualties and term life insurance would probably be of help but the lives lost will never be replaced. Rescue operation is still on going and it will surely take months even years in rebuilding the houses, streets and establishments. As I watched the live news feed on TV, I can’t help but to feel sad and worried. I could only be thankful it didn’t happen in Cebu but my heart goes out to all the victims.

Let us all pray as the country faces this new challenge and may we all do our share to help.

I’m stressed out to the highest level thinking of my paypal account. If only i can just let go of the remaining money in that account, i would have done it. But i spent hours to earn it, how can i just forget it? To some, it’s probably not much, but for me it’s hard earned. I don’t need the best appetite suppressant today, thinking about my paypal concern is enough to lose my appetite. Arrrggghhh! Please somebody help me! The blame could be on me cause i neglected the possibility. Sigh. Just how sad i am. Can somebody just help me?

mao ni sya akong problema: dili ko makasend ug money from my paypal account kay “your account access is limited”.. then para malift ni sya nga issue kay i need to add a new credit card, mao ni ang naka ingon “For your protection, we need to confirm your card’s billing address” pero dili man ko maka add ug credit card nga sa US ang billing kay wala man ko sa US (ang kani nga paypal nako kay sa US pa nga account, gi sign up nako kadtong wala pa nausu ang paypal sa Pinas)

Customer satisfaction - that is one of the many things always stressed out during quality meetings. And you, me, us being a customer most of the time - when we go shopping, when we dine out, when we order online, among others, would surely agree. We wouldn’t patronize a certain product if we are never satisfied or happy with it right? So, it just very vital that a company should make sure that an order fulfillment of a client is being met. As for my case at work, we always make sure that we get a high rating in the survey that is being sent out to our offshore counterparts at the end of every phase. It’s one way of knowing that our customers are satisfied with our performance.

So, it has been decided - the September 09 holiday (Osmena Day) is moved to Friday. That is the case for our company only so as not to disrupt operations. Schools and public offices and other private companies had no work last Wednesday.

So, it’s a long weekend for me. Nothing special in particular to do, probably just run some errands.

Eat your heart out guys, long weekend again for us! We had a blast of long weekends last August, and here we are starting September with another long weekend. September 09, is a legal non-working holiday in Cebu in honor of the former Phil President Sergio Osmena. Management at work decided to swap the holiday on Monday. Then we just received a text message that Malacanang has declared Monday a national day of mourning for Iglesia ni Cristo Executive Minister Eraño “Ka Erdy” Manalo, who will be buried that day. So, either we’ll have no work on Wednesday or move the holiday again to a later date. Thus two non-working days for us next week.
